Line 5: "What about moonbase 2?" - Optimus Prime to Bumblebee
"Regrets," Sinatra sang, "I've had a few." And while Frankie Baby says he's had too few to mention, we know better. High Society, anyone? I don't think there's a person involved with that film who didn't seriously regret it! Huh? Ka-ching!
But I have my regrets too. Last year, I started on a rather ambitious project, a self-help guide of sorts using the lines of Optimus Prime from the 1986 meisterwerk The Transformers: The Movie as my guide. I fell off the wagon. I disobeyed the very edicts I was espousing. But now, I feel Prime Living calling me back, back to a life filled with analogies to robot-based lifeforms, and, my friends, I WILL answer that call.
Today's line is simple, really. What about moonbase 2? It's such a simple question, but too often in today's microwave culture where we want our drycleaned pants back by Friday, we forget to take time to ask how things are going...to even ask a question. Sometimes, it's good to step back from the E-Z bake oven, smell the delicious cupcakes you've just created, and, before you bite into that gooey chocolate goodness, ask someone near and dear to you just how THEY are doing.
Remember, Prime Lifers, there are Decepticons out there at every stop. You've been marooned from your home planet, forced to make secret plans just to survive. But it can't be all about you. Even in your moments of serious crisis, take time ask to how the moonbase 2 in your life is doing.
You'll be glad you did. You would feel bad if a figurative giant planet eating robot named Unicron came and destroyed the figurative 2nd moonbase without saying those four simple words: How are you doing?
